Gel-Kayano Sneaker, Marathon Expo
A 40-foot Gel-Kayano that sat at the expo entrance for 80,000 runners, with every panel of the upper printed at 1:1 scale.

The brief was a shoe that looked like the real product from ten feet away, not a cartoon of one. The upper is printed mesh texture at true scale with the overlays welded on as separate raised panels so the light catches them differently. The sole is a single chamber with 22 oz vinyl on the ground-contact edge because expo floors are unforgiving.
